Logical Framework

C8: Logical Framework Approach to Settlement Services

Level: Intermediate

The Logical Framework Approach (LFA) is a long established objective oriented planning tool which can help planners, managers and front line workers to plan and implement settlement services, analyze the existing situation, establish a logical hierarchy of means by which objectives will be reached, identify the potential risks to achieving the objectives and sustainable outcomes, establish how outputs and outcomes might best be monitored and evaluated. The LFA project matrix covering activity, goals and objectives, outcome, output, with indicators, means of verification and assumptions will be discussed in the workshop in a participatory way which will help the participants to understand, plan and implement the settlement services objectively. The SMART (Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Realistic and Time-bound) analysis of the objectives of settlement services will facilitate achievement of the objectives of the settlement services and help clarify the intended and unintended results, changes and impact it creates in the new immigrants’ life in Canada.
This workshop will be of interest to frontline workers, managers and participants involved in planning and implementing settlement services.
