Financial Literacy: A Challenge To Newcomers
This workshop will provide frontline workers with important knowledge of financial processes and systems to better support newcomers. Participants will learn about and discuss:
Workshop participants will also learn about the services provided by Consolidated Credit Counseling Services of Canada, and how they work to support newcomers with financial literacy.
Daniel Chometa, a graduate of Mount Allison University currently works as the Community Outreach Manager for Consolidated Credit Counseling Services of Canada. He is dedicated to generating awareness about personal finance issues to the business community as well as to the general public. Daniel has worked diligently to develop a variety of community outreach programs and has traveled around the country conducting seminars and workshops to diverse employee groups. Mr. Chometa has also spearheaded financial literacy initiatives with organizations such as Canadian Tire Corporation, Canadian Border Services Agency, The Department of National Defense, CUPE, JVS and the Salvation Army.
